Yesterday, notorious drummer and self-proclaimed “Party King”, Andrew W.K., displayed his stamina and skills as part of the O Music Awards. As part of a live stream for the awards, W.K. began drumming Wednesday, June 19, and played for an entire 24 hours, setting a world record!
Andrew W.K. was not alone, Red Hot Chili Pepper’s drummer, Chad Smith, and the Roots’ drummer, Questlove, stopped by to groove as well. This was a special experience for W.K., as he considers Smith and Questlove to be “some of the greatest drummers in the world.”
W.K. is not the only extreme drummer out there. In the heart of honky tonk Nashville, Tennessee, people strolling down Lower Broadway at night can find a drummer whose stamina might rival W.K.’s.
This drummer, who is known as Kyhil, but is a staple to those who frequent Lower Broadway nightlife, and draws quite the crowd. Kyhil spends his nights drumming and freestyle rapping about ANYTHING! (But mostly people on the streets)
